A winter airlift expansion to Dominica makes those famous waterfalls and hiking trails more accessible than ever.

From the U.S., United Airlines is stepping up with twice-weekly nonstops from Newark, plus daily one-stop options via San Juan or St. Thomas.

Meanwhile, American Airlines is doubling down with twice-daily nonstops from Miami that started on Dec. 16.
From the U.K. and Europe, travelers can snag daily one-stop connections through Barbados or Antigua via British Airways and Virgin Atlantic.

Caribbean Airlines is keeping things flexible with flights from Toronto and New York Kennedy (via Port of Spain, Trinidad), while LIAT added a nonstop link from Punta Cana.

These routes are designed to cut down travel time and boost the island's tourism.

"The enhanced airlift reflects our commitment to improving Dominica's connectivity and ensuring that travel to the Nature Island becomes easier for visitors and nationals," tourism minister Denise Charles-Pemberton said.

"These new and expanded routes support our tourism growth goals and strengthen Dominica's position in regional and international travel."
