Visitors to Las Vegas are beginning to see signs that the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino and Guitar Hotel Las Vegas is on its way, as the property's guitar-shaped room tower has begin to emerge from the space where the Mirage's volcano once stood.

Set to open in the fourth quarter of 2027, the 700-foot-high tower will add about 600 rooms to the inventory, boosting the count to about 3,600 rooms. The existing tri-tower building is being remodeled, and there will be about 175,000 square feet of gaming space (up from the Mirage's 90,000-square-foot casino) and 200,000 square feet of meetings space.

While updates about the project are not expected until early next year, Hard Rock Las Vegas president Joe Lupo told the Las Vegas Review-Journal earlier this year that construction was on budget and on schedule.

Hard Rock International acquired the Mirage from MGM Resorts International in late 2022 for $1.1 billion. The hotel-casino closed in July 2024 for the transformation to begin.
