HX Expeditions said U.S. sales grew 31% in 2025, its first calendar year as an independent cruise line. HX also said there was a 57% increase U.S. advisors' sales.
Last year, the expedition cruise line introduced air-cruise packages (United flights to Greenland from Newark) and has since recorded a 129% increase in U.S. passenger volume for its Greenland cruises.
HX and Hurtigruten Group split into separate companies in February 2025. A few years prior, they had separated operations under the Hurtigruten umbrella, with HX Expeditions (then Hurtigruten Expeditions) operating expedition sailings and Hurtigruten operating Norwegian coastal cruises.
Since becoming an independent company last February, HX has intensified efforts to grow its business in the U.S. Chief commercial officer Alex Delamere-White described HX as "totally committed" to the U.S. market.
The company expanded its U.S.-based sales and marketing teams last spring with eight new hires and promotions. It also invested in new booking software and a travel advisor road show, which it will re-create this spring in eight cities.
Fleet investments included a repainting of its five ships and a refurbishment of the Fram and Spitsbergen with cabin, suite, science center and dining area upgrades.
