Mantis Collection, a South Africa-based hospitality brand known for its sustainable lodges and boutique hotels, is expanding its portfolio with the launch of Mantis Hiddn in Addo, a new off-the-grid eco-lodge set to open on March 1 in the Eastern Cape province.

Located within an exclusive 800-hectare private reserve adjoining Addo Elephant National Park, the five-star property will operate entirely off the grid, powered by solar energy and supported by water harvesting and recycling systems. The lodge will feature 12 luxury mountain suites and two private four-bedroom villas, each with earth-tone interiors, fireplaces, expansive decks overlooking the wilderness, and handcrafted KolKol wood-fired tubs (South African-made outdoor hot tubs heated by wood).

Daily guest experiences will include guided open-air safaris into Addo Elephant National Park, home to Africa's Big Five and over 600 elephants, alongside nature walks, star gazing, private dining, and curated botanical-inspired wellness rituals. Wellness offerings go beyond spa treatments, with therapies and activities available on private decks or within the reserve, aligning guests with the natural rhythms of the Eastern Cape landscape.

Developed by Mantis, whose mission is a focus on conservation and responsible tourism, Hiddn in Addo is built using locally sourced, eco-friendly materials and designed to blend seamlessly with the environment. The lodge says it is deeply rooted in the values of the AmaXhosa people and is committed to uplifting local communities through education, youth development, and enterprise partnerships in the Greater Addo area.
