MSC Cruises has ordered two more World-class ships, bringing the class to a total of eight vessels.

The seventh and eighth ships in the class will be delivered in 2030 and 2031 and will be built by Chantiers de l'Atlantique in France for 3.5 billion euros. Construction will begin in 2029.

The MSC World Asia and MSC World Atlantic, the third and fourth ships in the class, are currently under construction at Chantiers de l'Atlantique. The MSC World Asia was floated out on Nov. 12 and the MSC World Atlantic had its coin ceremony.

Currently sailing are the 6,762-passenger MSC World Europa and MSC World America, the latter of which debuted this past April.

MSC announced its order for the fifth and sixth World-class ships in May.
