Tribe Hotels Group, the Nairobi-based hospitality brand behind Tribe and Trademark Hotels, is expanding to Kenya's coast with the launch of Tribe Beach House in Kilifi this summer.

Tribe Beach House will feature two separate houses -- one with eight rooms and one with five -- each offering rooftop decks, swimming pools and a dedicated wellness center with a gym, sauna, spa and yoga studio.

Tribe Hotels said the property aims to distinguish itself through creative and cultural programming, including seasonal artist residencies, immersive workshops and culinary events. Signature experiences will include the Kilifi Creative Studio; hands-on sessions in Swahili poetry and scent-making; and curated dhow cruises with musicians and historians. The property also is embracing Kilifi's emerging reputation as a "coastal think tank," with learning retreats, talks under baobab trees with local experts and opportunities for guests to co-create public space projects alongside visiting artists and entrepreneurs.

Kilifi's appeal is bolstered by its sustainability-forward approach, with coral restoration projects and community-led environmental initiatives shaping the destination's future. The town is also home to the annual Beneath the Baobabs Festival, a music and cultural event held in the forests each December and January.

Tribe Hotels Group's expansion continues beyond the coast, with a new property in Kenya's Masai Mara planned for 2027.
