Smithsonian Journeys announced a slate of new trips for 2027, including river cruises, active journeys and special solar eclipse trips.
The tour operator will offer new trips around the globe, including its Living In collection and cultural stays.
The new trip offerings include three itineraries dedicated to solar eclipse viewing, bringing guests to the best spots to view the 2027 total solar eclipse. Smithsonian Journeys will offer a Nile river cruise in Egypt, a Ponant Explorations cruise along the Iberian Peninsula and a weeklong trip to Spain, all locations expected to offer prime eclipse viewing.
The operator also added itineraries to its Living In and Cultural Stays collections, with a weeklong Denmark itinerary; art history-focused itineraries in Paris and Madrid; and 23-day trip to the Greek isles.
The Living in the Greek Isles: A Stay on Poros itinerary is designed to immerse travelers in the destination and experience it like a local during their extended stay. Itinerary highlights include attending lectures with Greek history experts, exploring Athens and iconic sites like the Acropolis and visiting the site of ancient Mycenae.
Smithsonian Journeys will also operate two river cruises with AmaWaterways next year in France and on the Mekong.
