The Fontainebleau Las Vegas has opened a station along the Vegas Loop, The Boring Co.'s underground tunnel system for transportation.

Rides, in Teslas with human drivers, to and from the Fontainebleau are free for the resort's guests.

The new station, on level V-1 at the Fontainebleau's South Valet, provides transportation to the Las Vegas Convention Center station terminals (Riviera Station, West Station, Central Underground Station and South Station) as well as other current stops (Resorts World, Westgate and Encore).

Rides to airport

The Boring Co. has also secured a permit from the Nevada Transportation Authority to offer rides that include an above-ground stretch to Harry Reid Airport.

In a social media post, the company said it would provide a "small number of rides each day. The ride includes both a tunnel portion and a long surface portion, with the latter shifting to subsurface when the 2.25 mile Airport Connector twin tunnels open, hopefully in Q1 2026."

Airport drop-offs, from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m., are only available from Resorts World and Westgate and cost $12 per person.

The company is required to install transponders in each vehicle to begin pickups at the airport.

The Vegas Loop has about 10 miles of tunnels already dug, with about four miles in operation, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal. Boring Co. anticipates a buildout of 68 miles and more than 100 stations throughout the tourist corridor, downtown, the city’s medical district, Allegiant Stadium and the airport.

The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority first approved the privately financed system in 2019. The first portion opened at the convention center in 2021.
